Dr. Mikkelsen is the Director of Publications at PRI and its Museum of the Earth. She has published several books on shells and pearls. She will be available after her lecture for a book signing of her two most recent publications:

Re:Design is a fascinating dramatization of the 30 years of correspondence between Charles Darwin in Kent, England and Asa Gray in Boston, USA. Adapted exclusively from their own words, Re:Design offers a window into the minds and worlds of these two groundbreaking 19th century naturalists as they debate the consequences for religious beliefs of Darwin's new theory of evolution by natural selection.

Museum of the Earth is pleased to offer exhibit tours included with admission to the Museum. Now offered four times a week, guided tours of the Museum's permanent exhibition hall, A Journey through Time, share the story of the Earth and its life. The tours are offered on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays at 11:30 and Saturdays at 11:00. Tours are approximately 30 minutes long. Members are FREE.
