Friday, February 22nd Museum Tour 11:30 am

Take a journey back in time and learn about the history of life on Earth as you take a guided tour of the Museum of the Earth.

Ice Age Life 1:00 pm

What can fossils of Ice Age elephants tell us about environments 12,000 years ago?
How did glaciers create the local landscape of lakes and gorges? Answer these questions and more as you discover the Hyde Park mastodon and other clues left behind in 12,000 year old mud.

Dr. Mikkelsen is the Director of Publications at PRI and its Museum of the Earth. She has published several books on shells and pearls. She will be available after her lecture for a book signing of her two most recent publications:

and
Pearls: A Natural History




Fossil Fish Preparation 1:00-2:00 pm

Watch fossil fish be prepared in our Fossil Preparation Lab and then try it yourself with Museum staff.
