Pick-up a scavenger hunt worksheet from the Museum front desk and search through our latest exhibit, Dinosaurs in Popular Culture. Complete the hunt and get a prize!

Monday, December 31: Dinosaur Movement!
How did dinosaurs move? Explore the difference between bird-hipped and lizard-hipped dinosaurs and make your own movable dinosaur to take home!

Please note the Museum will be closed on January 1, 2008 in observance of the holiday.

Have a mineral and not a fossil? No problem! The Museum's longtime volunteer, Eniko Farkas, a geologist and member of the Cayuga Gem and Mineral Club, helps identify your mystifying mineral.

Please note that the Museum will be closed on Tuesday, December 25, 2007 in observance of the holiday!

This Weekend at Museum of the Earth...


Mostly Pottery '07
Saturday, December 8 from 11:00 a.m - 6:00 p.m.
Sunday, December 9 from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Museum of the Earth is thrilled to be hosting the second annual Mostly Pottery event in our gallery. There will be 17 artisans from around the country exhibiting and selling their art work. A portion of proceeds goes to support education programs at Museum of the Earth. Join us and shop under the Right Whale #2030.

Admission to the Mostly Pottery exhibit and sale are free.

Saturday, December 8 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Staff Paleontologists at Museum of the Earth and PRI help you identify your most puzzling find, from brachiopods to trilobites to funny-looking rocks.
