Cecil's Dino Holiday Party
10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Hang out with Cecil and other dinosaur pals at our annual Dino Holiday Party!
Puppeteer Tom Knight performs at 10:45 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. Play dino-bean-bag toss,
get your face painted, and explore your creative side with some dino-mite crafts. Dr. Cecil
might even make a special appearance!

Natural History at Noon
Defining Dinosaurs:
What is a dinosaur and how do we know that they are related to birds?

Lecture by David Varricchio,

The Museum will reopen on Friday at 10:00 a.m.

Mineral ID Day-

Sunday, November 25 at 12:00 p.m.

Have a mineral and not a fossil? No problem. The museum's
long-time volunteer, Eniko Farkas, a geologist and member
of the Cayuga Gem and Mineral Club, helps identify your

Everyone loves dinosaurs! From Barnie to Sue, and from Gertie to Jurassic Park, these ancient creatures fit seamlessly into our modern lives. In this exhibit we explore the modern dinosaur phenomenon and how our ideas about these fantastic creatures have changed over time.

This Weekend at Museum of the Earth

There's a lot going on all the time at Museum of the Earth. This is what's happening this weekend:

Saturday, November 3
America Recycles Day
10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Join us for some off-site fun at The Shops at Ithaca Mall to celebrate the
10th anniversary of American Recycles Day. This day is held annually to
increase awareness around social, environmental, and economic benefits of
buying recycled products and recycling in general. Help build our
"Recycle-a-saurus" and do activities with various organizations!

Natural History at Noon at Museum of the Earth
12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
"Natural History of the Grape: The Historical Genetics of Wine" with Chris
Owens, USDA Research Geneticist
Wine grapes are one of our oldest fruit crops. This talk will trace major
developments in the domestication and spread of grape cultivation and
wine-making. Particular emphasis will be on the important role that
genetics has played in the spread of global viticulture.
